Course Outline                                                                                     Pathfinders-RTP       
The classes will be held on the ECPI campus and directions can be found on our web site “http://pathfinders-rtp.org/7301/index.html”.  Each class will be interactive, with a lead presenter and 4 to 6 coaches for approximately 18 to 24 students.  The classrooms have Windows based desktop computers which are available for each student to use during class.

Course 1:    Basic Linked In
Requirements:  Hard copy of resume, email address & password.
* Suggestion:  E-Mail a copy of your resume to yourself to copy / paste info directly into LinkedIn
1.    Introduction to LinkedIn & Tips
2.    Set up your profile. 
Linked sends a confirmation note to your email address when you join.  You must reply to the LinkedIn email to continue.  Your email account can be accessed from class.
3.    How to use Linked In
4.    Create your profile
5.    Add past and current employers, job titles, and a brief description (at least three).
6.    Add education
7.    Add contact information
8.    Add key words and summary
9.    Customize your URL
10.  Set contact settings (email address, etc.) and add interests
11.  Review example profiles
12.  Photo (time permitting) or Photos are made in the next course.


Course 2:  LinkedIn Next Steps
Requirements: You must have a profile and complete all steps of Basic LinkedIn to enter the “Next Steps” class. You will need your resume, LinkedIn User Name and Linked In Password. Exception: If you do not have a Photo, it can be made after “Next Steps” class.
1.    Completing your profile
2.    Confirm your URL and Photo
3.    Update Contact Settings
4.    People Search (find your classmates)
5.    Send Invitations
6.    Accept Invitations (Yes, or Archive)
7.    How to forward your profile to a connection
8.    Public Profile Options
9.    Search, Find, and Join a Group
10.  Advanced Settings
11.  Q & A (time permitting.)


Course 3:   LinkedIn Advanced
An interactive class that will focus on student questions, people search, company search and job search techniques. Your profile should be >90% and you have been using LinkedIn for at least 1 month to attend this class. We have learned that many students who have a low LinkedIn profile completion rate (below 75%) have struggled in the advance class if taken the same day.”
